The Eurasian community of Singapore are the mixed-race descendants of European colonists. These descendants trace their European heritage to the Portuguese, Dutch and British settlers during the colonial times. Meanwhile, their Asian heritage is from the local population of the Malay archipelago or the various Asian immigrants who have settled in the region. These various communities eventually settled in Singapore, where they usually follow the religion and cultural practices of their European forefathers. Particularly, the Portuguese Eurasian community developed their own creole language - Kristang. Let’s meet the Singaporean beauties in Miss Universe who are from the Eurasian community. For their national costumes, usual choices were the Chinese-origin cheongsam (qipao) or the Malay baju kurung or sarong kebaya, all of which are common among local Singaporean women
